Nursery Rooms

We are lucky to have the 19th Century St. Anne’s Infant School as our home. Rooms are spacious and we will not overcrowd each area. We have an extensive garden which has some sheltered areas, we have raised beds where the children are involved in growing vegetables and herbs and flowers. We encourage outdoor play and our setting lends itself perfectly.

ROOMS

Our rooms offer a home-from-home atmosphere allowing the children to learn and develop at their own pace. We have unique blue light free lighting here in our nursery rooms, dining area and office. We love the warm amber glow our bulbs give out, creating a calm, soothing environment. Generations of children are growing up in an illuminated world, meaning their young eyes and brains are being constantly bombarded with artificial, high energy blue light. Especially with the increased use of screens over the past decade. By removing the blue light we hope this will not disrupt their circadian rhythm, disturb sleep and affect their mental and physical health meaning their nursery day will be happy and relaxed.

In our rooms we chose to use organic essential oils for fragrance, which also have other benefits, for example lavender when used has calming, soothing effects for nap time and citrus oils have stimulating, uplifting effects for music and movement!

Baby Room

The baby room is a warm, loving and nurturing space with an environment that challenges and stimulates babies as they progress. There is no set routine within the baby room, as babies are served best when following their own natural routines. In the separate sleep room the babies are soothed to sleep with music and soft toys creating a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.

Art is carried out, but is all about exploring and developing their senses and staff are on hand for tummy time, cwtches and singing.

Toddler Room

Our toddler room has planned activities, but the children can choose what they would like to play with and they are able to select the toys and equipment themselves. Staff are based on each area helping the language development. Activities can be altered when children are ready or showing interest in activities other than those currently on offer.

Planned activities are created from the children’s interests and areas of their development being supported. During circle time the children are encouraged to participate in a variety of activities, from singing, stories to dancing which supports and promote social and emotional aspects of learning.

Pre-School Room

Our pre-school room encourages messy play, role play, and small world play. We encourage children at all ages to explore their creativity, using the environment around them to enhance their imaginative play and physical development. We celebrate each child and give them the tools needed before primary education.

Outside Area

We are fortunate to have a great outdoor space for our children to explore, flourish and make a mess! And more mess often means, more fun!

Dining Room

There is a large dining area where all children and staff will eat together. This is important to us as we want them to feel part of one family.
